Beth Sainty-Gale

1999 - 2000

Community advocate and leader Beth Sainty- Gale is deeply committed to strengthening connection and participation across regional Australia. She lived at John XXIII College from 1999 to 2000, and has since built a life grounded in service, community leadership and a belief in the importance of active citizenship.

Beth has held senior roles across government, health and education, working across policy, organisational improvement and regional development. She is currently a Principal Consultant at Sainty Consulting and Chair of the Grants Committee for the Border Trust, supporting community-led initiatives across the Albury–Wodonga region. Alongside her professional work, she has consistently contributed to community organisations, serving on boards and leadership committees, supporting isolated individuals through the Red Cross, welcoming newly arrived refugee families, and writing grants for not-for-profits. Her approach is steady and practical, grounded in a strong sense of care and connection.

Since 2018, Beth has been actively involved in the Community Independents movement, advocating for stronger regional representation. As Vice President of Voices of Farrer, she helped lead a community-driven process to identify an independent candidate, later contributing to Michelle Milthorpe’s federal election campaign and continuing her involvement in the Farrer by-election. At the heart of her work is a simple conviction: that both communities and democracy rely on the time, effort and commitment of those who participate in them.

Quote
"If you want to be a true professional, you will do something outside yourself, something to repair tears in your community, something to make life a little better for people less fortunate than you. That’s what I think a meaningful life is. One lives not just for one’s self but for one’s community."

- Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg
