Bronte Moules

1985 - 1986

Career diplomat Bronte Moules has spent more than three decades representing Australia in international diplomacy and advancing human rights and global cooperation. She lived at John XXIII College in 1985 and 1986 while studying at the Australian National University, where the independence and intellectual environment of the College community helped nurture her curiosity about the world and different cultures.

Bronte joined the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and has served in a series of senior diplomatic roles across the globe. Her overseas postings have included Ambassador to Myanmar, Ambassador to Zimbabwe (with accreditation to Zambia, Malawi, the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Republic of Congo) as well as senior roles as Deputy High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea and Deputy Head of Mission in Bangkok. Assignments took her to New Delhi, New York and Geneva, working on issues spanning international relations, multilateral diplomacy and global governance. She currently serves as Australia’s Ambassador for Human Rights, based in Canberra.

Throughout her career Bronte has been motivated by a deep interest in international relations and the opportunity to live and work across different cultures. Whether negotiating policy or engaging with communities abroad, she remains inspired by people who demonstrate generosity, humility and a genuine commitment to others.
