Emily Weston
2009 - 2011
Energy executive Emily Weston works at the forefront of Australia’s transition to cleaner and more reliable energy systems. She lived at John XXIII College from 2009 to 2011 while studying at the Australian National University, an experience that helped shape both her professional ambitions and her lasting connection to the College community.
Emily began her career in accounting with Deloitte, before moving into the energy sector where she developed deep expertise across infrastructure, investment and project delivery. Over more than a decade she has worked across complex energy markets and large-scale projects, building a strong reputation for strategic leadership and operational delivery. She is now General Manager at Akaysha Energy, a BlackRock-backed developer of grid-scale battery storage, where she leads the design and rapid deployment of mega-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems that support reliable, renewable energy supply.
Alongside her professional work, Emily remains closely connected to the College as a Board Member of John XXIII College, contributing to its future direction and community. Outside work she enjoys family life with her husband and welcomed their son Jack in September 2025.
