Jessica Bradbury

1988 - 1990

Police officer Jessica Bradbury has spent more than three decades serving the community through a diverse career with the New South Wales Police Force. She lived at John XXIII College from 1988 to 1990 while studying at the Australian National University, where she formed lifelong friendships and first experienced the importance of teamwork and connection that would later shape her professional life.

Across her 33-year policing career, Jessica has worked in a wide range of operational and leadership roles including Police Prosecutions, Domestic Violence units, General Duties and Police Education. She took on a leadership role in the Domestic Violence Unit, helping move its work beyond the office and into the field to improve how police understand and respond to domestic and family violence. Her leadership has contributed to changes in frontline policing practice and was recognised with the NSW Premier’s Award for Excellence. She currently works with the NSW Police Professional Standards Command, supporting integrity and professional practice across the organisation. Alongside her policing career she has completed postgraduate studies in Public Policy and is currently undertaking a Master’s degree majoring in writing.

Outside of policing Jessica remains deeply connected to her local community on the Central Coast, where she lives with her husband, daughter and elderly dachshund cross. She founded a community book club that has run for more than 17 years, participates in local Parkrun events, teaches Primary Ethics, and regularly attends writers’ festivals. A passionate reader and aspiring novelist, she continues to balance public service with creativity, community and lifelong learning.
