Melanie Greblo

1993

Purpose strategist, storyteller and social impact leader Melanie Greblo has built a career exploring how narrative, culture and business intersect to drive meaningful change. She spent a year at John XXIII College in 1993 while studying at the Australian National University, a formative period that shaped her interest in social justice and purpose-led work. Moving from Victoria to Canberra marked an important step in her independence, and her time at Johns, filled with debate, student politics and lifelong friendships, helped cement her commitment to using ideas and storytelling to influence society.

Over more than 25 years Melanie has worked across the fields of sustainability, media, communications and social impact. She is the founder of Humans of Purpose, a certified B Corp dedicated to elevating stories that inspire social and environmental change. Through the organisation she hosts the Humans of Purpose podcast, a weekly series featuring conversations with influential changemakers and cultural leaders. Her work centres on the belief that storytelling is not simply a communication tool, but essential infrastructure for trust, legitimacy and systemic change in business and society.

Through the Humans of Purpose Academy, Melanie has helped support women survivors of domestic and family violence to rebuild their lives and pursue careers in the digital economy. Since 2023 the program has supported more than 400 women through recovery, skills development and employment readiness, with 23 participants securing employment, including 17 within the agency itself. A regular speaker at festivals, conferences and leadership forums, Melanie continues to explore how purpose-led business, women’s voices and collective storytelling can help shape more equitable and sustainable futures.
