Skye Buttenshaw
2006 - 2008
Communications and public affairs strategist Skye Buttenshaw has built an international career advising organisations navigating complex political, reputational and regulatory environments. She lived at John XXIII College from 2006 to 2008 while studying Arts at the Australian National University, before later completing Communications at RMIT University. After university she spent a decade in Melbourne developing her career in politics, advocacy and strategic communications.
Skye has held a number of senior roles across the public, corporate and not-for-profit sectors. She served as Head of Communications at Teach For Australia, Media Adviser to Australian Treasurer Josh Frydenberg, and later worked internationally as a Media Adviser at the British Chambers of Commerce. She went on to become a Director at MHP, one of the United Kingdom’s largest public relations and public affairs firms, advising major organisations on strategic communications and policy engagement.
Skye is now Managing Director of Fleetwood Strategy, a consultancy operating across London and Melbourne that integrates communications, public policy and opinion research to help organisations advocate for themselves and drive meaningful change. Based in North London, she lives with her husband Sean and their young son, while continuing to contribute to international discussions on sustainability and public policy and maintaining a strong commitment to community engagement and service.
